Our annual boosting competition reached its finale on New Years Eve.
A great competition this year, with Terry Bennions taking top spot with a whopping 26.6m! Most improved was a tied by both John Clasper and Steve Lynch, both improving 4.9m compared to last year! We were also very pleased to announce that our sponsors were donating £1 for every Km of height jumped in the competition - With a total of 90.1 Km jumped, £90 was donated to the Air Ambulance as a thank you to all the competitors efforts.
Check out our all new guide to kitesurfing the beaches of the North East.
After attending a handful of other big air events, we decided it was time to host our own, with the following rules:
Register your new Woo sessions with the hashtags #KOTN and #NEKC to enter. The competition is open to anyone and everyone, but to be a King of the North its gotta be done in the North! So only sessions logged on the North East Coast (between the Humber and the Scottish border) will count. The club will be providing an illustrious trophy for the biggest overall jump in that time, and more prizes to promote 'having a go', personal improvement and general participation; which have been kindly donated by Airush Kiteboarding, Shinnworld andKiteworld Magazine. The results are due shortly after the end of the year! |
